Image: Distribution of Entrepreneurs by Age group in Québec.
To the best of my knowledge, when I worked at Coveo, I was the youngest in the box amongst their 200+ employees back then. The same goes for InnovMetric Software and their 200 or so employees. I was also probably the youngest as well at Bentley Systems in their Quebec City office, and at Vooban.
And I was doing R&D and product development, just like the other developers. I’ve always worked in software.
I then started my business at 23 years old in 2018, as I was enrolled full-time in my bachelor and publishing papers with PhD students.
I wasn’t aware that I was in the 1% of the youngest entrepreneurs until I saw the stats in the image below.
This statistic motivates me to surpass myself again, while my business, Neuraxio, already evolves well.
I feel grateful for my former employers to have not judged me on my age, despite it often has been a limiting factor.
I would like to highlight that we should not judge people by their age. I also think that love has no age.
Having a good support network and good mentors is also crucial to moving quickly.
I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and for other young motivated people, now passing this first percentile. 🙂
